Cuelio

A search-first YouTube extension for transcript search, comment search, source-grounded AI answers, and exact timestamp jumps beside the video.

Cuelio project visual
Problem

Long YouTube videos often behave like messy knowledge bases, but finding the exact quote, answer, or viewer reaction inside them is still too slow.

Outcome

A local-first side-panel workflow that helps people search transcripts, question videos with timestamped AI answers, inspect comments, and jump back to the right second faster.

Context

What this project is

Cuelio is a YouTube research extension built for people who treat long videos as source material, not passive content.

Approach

How I shaped it

I designed it around a search-first side-panel flow: keep the video open, search transcript lines, search comments, ask focused AI questions, and verify every useful answer against timestamps.

Decisions

Product and engineering choices

Keep transcript search as the primary interaction instead of turning the product into a summary-first AI layer.

Use source-grounded AI answers with visible timestamps so the product speeds up trust, not just output.

Default the workflow to local browser storage and explicit AI actions to keep privacy and cost boundaries clear.
